Team World takes big lead at WFG Continental Cup of Curling

Team World holds 57-33 advantage through five draws at Langley Events Centre competition

Young fans cheered on Team North America at the World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling at the Langley Events Centre.

A clean sweep in mixed doubles action in the fifth draw has given Team World a 24-point lead nearly midway through the World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling.

Team World won all three mixed doubles matches to take all 18 available points during Friday's second draw.

Heading into the draw, Team World held a narrow 39-33 advantage.

Torger Nergrd and Bingyu Wang teamed up to beat Craig Savill and Patti Lank 5-4, while Fredkrik Lindberg and Eve Muirhead held off Ben Hebert and Stefanie Lawton 8-7.

The third match was 7-5 in favour of Greg Drummond and Anna Sloan, as they held off Joe Polo and Amber Holland.

Action continues through Sunday at the Langley Events Centre.
