The Langley Thunder earned a measure of revenge against the Burnaby Lakers.

The Lakers had ruined the senior A lacrosse team's home opener two weeks earlier with an overtime victory. But the teams met again on June 6 at the Langley  Events Centre, and this time, it was the Thunder's turn for victory, 13-7.

The win improved Langley to 3-2 in Western Lacrosse Association action.

The Lakers struck for the game's first two goals, but after that, Langley was in full control, closing the first period with five of the next six goals and then opening the second period with another half dozen goals.

Lewis Ratcliff led the Langley onslaught with two goals and three assists, while Athan Iannucci and Alex Turner both had four-point games (two goals, two assists apiece) and Shayne Jackson (two goals, one assist) and Kerry Susheski (one goal, two assists) registered three-point games.

Patrick O'Meara, Brett Hickey, Matt MacGrotty and Tor Reinholdt chipped in with a goal apiece.

Brodie MacDonald stopped 43 of the 50 shots he faced.

The Thunder play the New Westminster Salmonbellies (3-1) on June 7 at Queen's Park Arena in a rematch of last season's WLA championship series, which was won by Langley.

The game is the fourth annual Seats for Soldiers Military Appreciation Night in a salute to the Canadian Forces.

Anyone with an association to the military, including veterans, cadets, legion members or military association members, along with their families will be admitted free of charge.

Civilians are encouraged to wear red.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Thunder also host the Coquitlam Adanacs (1-4) on June 13 at the LEC. Game time is 7:45 p.m.
