The Langley B2 Thunder won gold at the Dennis Hickey Memorial Lacrosse tournament over the weekend.

Another tournament, another title for the Langley B2 Thunder lacrosse team.

For the second time in as many weekends, the local bantam lacrosse team was golden.

But while last time they had to travel to the Okanagan to collect their gold, this time, the Thunder did so in the friendly confines of within Langley at the Dennis Hickey Memorial Lacrosse Tournament.

The tournament was held at the Langley Events Centre, the George Preston Recreation and the Aldergrove Arena.

Langley defeated Port Coquitlam 10-3 in the gold medal game on Sunday, with Aydan Johnson and Tyler Starinieri both registering hat tricks in the final.

Starinieri earned game MVP honours.

The win capped off a perfect 5-0 weekend for the Thunder as they went 3-0 in the round robin and then defeated the Langley B1 Thunder team in the 5-4 in overtime in the semifinals with captain Kyle Olsen scoring the decisive goal.

The Langley B1  team finished fourth while the Bantam A1 squad captured the bronze medal in their division.
