The Langley Thunder are still in search of their first victory after falling 12-5 to the Nanaimo Timbermen on Sunday.

The senior A Western Lacrosse Association game was played at Nanaimo’s Frank Crane Arena.

The Thunder (0-2) were ahead 3-2 early in the second period before surrendering five straight goals. The Timbermen took a 7-4 lead into intermission and then put the game out of reach with another five-goal run to open the third.

JP Kealy led Langley with two goals while Cole Shafer had a goal and three assists. Bryce Brochu and Andrew Gresham had the other Thunder goals.

The Thunder play their home opener on May 31 at the Langley Events Centre as they host the Maple Ridge Burrards. Game time is 7:45 p.m.
