U18 Elite Hockey Tournament wraps up on Sunday night at Langley Events Centre

The inaugural Ernie ‘Punch’ McLean U18 Elite Hockey Tournament wraps up on Sunday night at the Langley Events Centre.

The tournament features six U18 hockey clubs from around the Lower Mainland with the gold medal game set for Sunday at 7 p.m. McLean will be in attendance.

The tournament is named after the legendary junior hockey coach who has coached more than 45 players who went on to NHL careers, including Barry Beck, Stan Smyl and Cliff Ronning, to name a few.

Admission is by  donation, with proceeds going to the Canucks For Kids Fund.

There will also be a raffle for a gold nugget, valued at just less than $500, donated by McLean’s wife, Fran. Tickets are one for $5, three for $10 or seven for $20.

Money raised will go to the Canucks for Kids Fund.
