Two goals from Edvin Hasakovic leads to successful debut for Langley junior B hockey club

Edvin Hasakovic scored the first goal in Langley Trappers’ franchise history as the junior B hockey club won their debut, 4-3.

Hasakovic finished off a two-on-one, taking a cross-ice pass from Joshua Boelema and re-directing the puck past Grandview Steelers goaltender Matteo Petrelli.

The goal came at the 14:12 mark of the first period and came on Langley’s second shot of the game on Wednesday night at the George Preston Recreation Centre in the Pacific Junior Hockey League regular season opener.

Hollander Thompson doubled the lead with a short-handed marker 97 seconds later and the Trappers took a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes.

Langley led 4-1 midway through the third before Grandview scored a pair of late goals.

Hasakovic finished with a pair of goals while Boelema (one goal, one assist) and Carter Graham (two assists) also had multi-point games.

Goaltender Brendan Carew finished with 29 saves for the victory.

Langley is back in action tonight (Friday) when they visit the Abbotsford Pilots.

The Trappers next home game is Sept. 13 as they host the North Vancouver Wolf Pack.
