A diving stop in the 90th minute helped the Trinity Western Spartans play to a scoreless draw in their spring season finale.

The Spartans men's soccer team hosted the Seattle Pacific Falcons on April 14 at Rogers Park on the TWU campus.

And goalkeeper Evan Lowther stopped a point-blank attempt from in tight just before the final whistle.

The Spartans finished the spring season with a 1-2-2 record. Trinity Western scored seven goals in their five spring games, but all of those came in two contests — a 3-3 draw with SFU and a 4-3 victory over UBC.

"I thought we started off well, but we tailed off a bit in the end," admitted coach Pat Rohla.

"I think both teams had some chances, but not a lot.

"We had a couple of chances that we could have buried in the first half," he added.

"I'm not displeased with the way we played; I think it was like many of our games this spring season in that we played OK, but we just didn't finish our chances."
