Trinity Western has four teams ranked amongst the top two in the country this week.

The Spartans women’s volleyball team opens the year at No. 1, while the men’s volleyball, women’s soccer and women’s cross country teams are all No. 2.

The men’s cross country team isn’t far behind, ranked at No. 4.

Coming off a U Sports (formerly CIS) silver-medal winning season, the women’s volleyball team opens up at No. 1 in the country for the second time in the last three years.

This is also the fifth consecutive year TWU’s women’s volleyball team has started the year ranked amongst the top three.

On the men’s side, the defending national champion Spartans are No. 2 in the U Sports Top 10.

They have now been ranked in the top three in the season-opening poll in seven straight years.

Both teams begin their Canada West season this weekend in Regina.

On the pitch, the women’s soccer team is second in the polls for the fifth week in a row. After finishing the regular season undefeated (11-0-3), they play in the Canada West quarter-finals tomorrow (Saturday) at TWU’s Chase Office Field.

The cross country teams also remained as they were last week, with the women’s team No. 2 and the men’s team No. 4.

Both cross-country teams are in Nanaimo tomorrow (Saturday) for the B.C. provincial championships.
