The Langley Christian Lightning are going for gold.

The senior boys volleyball defeated their archival from Abbotsford, the MEI Eagles, 3-1 in the semifinals of the BC 2A provincial volleyball championships on Friday at the Langley Events Centre.

They will play Prince George's College Heights Cougars in Saturday's gold-medal game at the LEC on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The fifth-ranked Cougars upset the second-ranked Pacific Academy Breakers 3-2 in Friday's other semifinal.

Langley Christian defeated Pacific Academy in the Fraser Valley championship game but the Breakers beat the Lightning in pool play on the first day of the provincial championships.

The Lightning have not played College Heights this season.

After going 2-1 in pool play, the Lightning beat both W.L. Seaton and George Elliot in straight sets.
