Vancouver side tops US in final of Sanatan World Cup

A Lower Mainland team came out on top of an international soccer tournament over the weekend at McLeod Athletic Park.

For the first time, the 2012 Sanatan World Cup was contested in Canada, and it was Vancouver Sanatan 2 which took top spot, defeating USA Sanatan 3-2 in penalty kicks.

The teams were tied at one goal after regulation.

The tournament featured several Canadian teams as well as entries from the U.S., New Zealand, Fiji and Australia.
