The Vancouver Stealth made a couple of moves July 20, inking their ball-stopper to a two-year deal, and inking a versatile runner for next season.

The National Lacrosse League squad, which plays its home games at the Langley Events Centre, recently signed goaltender Tye Belanger to a two-year contract, as well as transition player Thomas Hoggarth to a one-year contract, pending league approval.

Belanger played in 16 games for the Stealth during the 2017 NLL campaign.

He led the league with a .796 save percentage and was fourth on the list with an 11.28 goals against average. Belanger was originally drafted 16th overall by the Colorado Mammoth in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft but was acquired by Vancouver in October 2016.

“With the success we had last season, I am excited for the future,” said Tye Belanger. “I think we took a big step forward as a team and I like the direction we are headed.”

Hoggarth has spent his two-year career with the Stealth organization appearing 20 games, scoring eight goals, three assists and 11 points. He was originally drafted 20th overall by Georgia in the 2015 NLL Entry Draft but signed in February 2016 as a free agent with the Stealth. He helped lead the Orangeville Northmen to a Minto Cup Finals appearance in 2016.

“I am very excited to return to the Stealth for the 2018 season,” said Hoggarth said. “I think I speak on behalf of all of the guys, when I say we are going to make a big push this year and we all have our sights set on the Champion’s Cup.”

The Stealth will be announcing ticket sales updates in the upcoming week. Stay up-to-date on the team’s website, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
