Four third-period goals helped the Penticton Vees helped them defeat the Langley Rivermen.

The Rivermen were ahead 3-2 after 40 minutes but the Vees rallied for the 6-4 win on Thursday morning at the BCHL Bauer Showcase at Chilliwack’s Prospera Centre.

Zac Masson — on the power play — and Ryan Barrow had given the Rivermen a 2-0 lead after one period.

But the Vees struck for two goals as Taylor Ward and Owen Sillinger sandwiched a goal from Langley’s Cooper Leitch in the middle stanza.

Sillinger would pot the equalizer 4:37 into the third and Nicholas Jones scored a short-handed goal less than four minutes later to give the Vees their first lead.

Ward extended the score to 5-3 before Max Kaufman got one back for the Rivermen. But any chance of notching the equalizer were ended when Sillinger scored his third of the game, this time into an empty net.

Kaufman led Langley with a goal and two helpers.

Bo Didur took the loss, allowing five goals on 34 shots.

The Rivermen have one more game at the Showcase, Saturday afternoon against Victoria.
