Mason Verge belted a two-run home run as the Langley Blaze won their third straight game, 3-2 over the North Delta Blue Jays.

The two U18 B.C. Premier Baseball League were playing at McLeod Park on Thursday (June 19).

Verge's blast came in the second inning with the teams tied at one.

Mitchell Robinson had an RBI single for Langley, scoring Justin Lawrence in the first inning. Lawrence had gotten on base with a triple.

And that was enough offence for Jonathan Keltie, who scattered eight hits and two runs over seven innings. He struck out eight and improved to 4-2 on the season.

The win improved Langley to a league-best record of 27-7 in the PBL.

The team hosts the Kent Bulldogs in Seattle Premier Baseball League action on Saturday (June 21) at McLeod Park. Game times are 4:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
