Vancouver FC has signed 17-year-old attacking midfielder Kevin Podgorni from Mississauga, Ontario through 2026 with options for 2027 and 2028.
The deal was announced March 13.
At Prostars FC in Ontario, Podgorni had played through their youth teams up to their League1 Ontario U-20 reserve squad, with experience playing as an attacking midfielder, false nine, and winger.
Podgorni said he was particularly drawn to Langley-based Vancouver FC after witnessing the club’s commitment to advancing young talent, exemplified by the recent transfer of Grady McDonnell to Club Brugge.
“I wanted to be at a proven club that moves on young, developing players,” Podgorni explained. “Vancouver FC does what they say, and I loved that about this club. Seeing Grady take that next step showed me that this is a place where young players can grow and make it to the next level.”
“My goals and aspirations for the upcoming season are to make my professional debut and to score my first professional goal. And a more long-term goal for me is to eventually get sold to a European market.”
