Day two of the B.C. high school track and field championships featured a full day of competition.

Thousands of athletes from around the province are in Langley for the three-day provincial championships at Langley’s McLeod Athletic Park.

Champions for all age groups (Grade 8, junior and senior) were crowned in the 100m and 400m events, as well as in the junior and senior 1500m and 4x100m relays.

Some of the marquee field events included the senior girls high jump and pole vault, as well as the senior boys high jump and hammer throw.

The three-day meet wraps up on Saturday with the 200m, 800m and 3000m finals, as well as the 4x400m relays for track, while field events include senior girls triple jump, shot put and javelin and the senior boys pole vault, long jump and shot put.

The awards and presentations will be held at 5:45 p.m.
