VIDEO: Giants wrap training camp with Legends Cup showdown

First time camp has been held at Langley Events Centre, Giants home ice

Vancouver Giants wrapped up their 2024 Chevrolet Training Camp with the annual Quinn vs. Howe Legends Cup on Saturday night, Aug. 31, with Team Howe defeating Team Quinn 11-3 at the Langley Events Centre.

Tyus Sparks (2008) led the way with a hat-trick and two assists, while Brett Olson (2008), Landon Horiachka (2009) and Kaden Hayes (2008) each had a pair of goals. Luke Storr (2009) and Kesler Curtis (2009) rounded out the scoring for Team Howe.

On the other side, Blake Chorney (2009), Kadyn Olfert (2009) and Max Malinousky (2008) scored for Team Quinn.

Three stars of the game: 1st:  Tyus Sparks (Howe) – 3G, 2A 2nd: Brett Olson (Howe) – 2G, 2A 3rd Blake Chorney (Quinn) – 1G, 1A.

It marked the first time Giants have held training camp at the LEC, their home arena.

Next up, preseason in Port Coquitlam, which is once again hosting the Giants,  for a pair  games on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8, both against the Victoria Royals.

Games will take place at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) inside Jon Baillie Arena, with Saturday’s game scheduled for 7 p.m. and Sunday’s game scheduled for 2 p.m.
