Walnut Grove advances to semi-finals at Langley Events Centre

Walnut Grove Gators are into the semi-finals tonight against in the 4A boys basketball competition unfolding at the Langley Events Centre.

Walnut Grove senior boys are into the semi-finals of high school boys basketball championships in Langley tonight.

The Gators will go up against Kelowna tonight at 8:15 p.m. during the 4A competition that started Wednesday at the Langley Events Centre.

The team earned their position in the semi-finals Friday, beating Holy Cross 90-58.

“After this win, it feels just GREAT!” said Walnut Grove head coach George Bergen.

“The plan for tomorrow is to do exactly what we have done all year and if it all goes well, we win.”

They’ll go up against Kelowna, who beat out Oak Bay Friday, 86-74, earning their turn in the semi-finals for the 4A play.

In the meantime, 3A played today saw Rick Hansen going against South Kamloops at 6 p.m. today,

In 2A boys play, Brentwood College School downed St. Michael’s University School this afternoon 54-44.

And in 1A play, the semi-finals saw Kelowna Christian face off against B.C. Christian Academy, with B.C. squeaking out a victory 68-63
