The Walnut Grove Gators senior boys rugby team is heading to the Fraser Valley Tier 2 championship final after downing Maple Ridge’s Westview Wildcats 19-7 in the semifinal on Friday.
On May 20, in the quarter-final against Chilliwack, the Gators jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead before cruising to a 54-7 victory.
The Gators face Surrey’s L.A. Matheson Mustangs in the championship game on Wednesday, May 27 at the Brit Lions Rugby Club in South Delta. The Wednesday afternoon title game gets underway at 4 p.m.
