Langley's Josh Williams (#14) and Boston Bilous are both on the shortlist for BC Hockey's final roster for the Western Canada Challenge Cup.

A pair of Langley hockey players are on the radar for BC Hockey’s under-16 team.

Goaltender Boston Bilous and forward Josh Williams are among the 30 players shortlisted for the final roster.

The players will be watched and graded by BC Hockey evaluators and the Team BC coaching staff during the first part of the upcoming hockey season and the final roster will be announced on Oct. 3.

The selected players will represent B.C. at the Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup from Oct. 18 to 23 in Calgary.

Both players were drafted this past May in the Western Hockey League bantam draft with Williams becoming the highest-ever Langley born player selected when he was taken fifth overall by the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Bilous was taken in the fourth round by the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Williams, a six-foot-one, 178-pound power forward was named the B.C. minor hockey player of the year by Hockey Now.

Williams racked up 35 goals and 59 points in 25 games last season with the Yale Hockey Academy’s U15 bantam prep team, earning the Canadian School Sport Hockey League most valuable player and top scorer.

Williams has signed with the Tigers, but cannot play in the WHL until the 2017/18 season when he will be 16. He can play in five games this season with Medicine Hat.

Bilous, who had initially verbally committed to the University of Denver hockey program, has since signed his WHL player agreement with the Oil Kings.

The six-foot-two, 209-pound goaltender was 6-2 with a .900 save percentage and a 3.30 goals against average this past season with the Delta Hockey Academy U15 bantam prep team. He missed about two months with a sprained MCL.
