Win streak reaches seven for top-ranked Spartan

Trinity Western's Alicia Perrin helped lead the Spartans to another pair of straight-sets victories over the weekend at the Langley Events Centre.

Two more victories have stretched the Trinity Western Spartans winning streak to seven matches.

Both matches were won in straight sets over the weekend against the Saskatchewan Huskies at the Langley Events Centre and the Spartans have now won an impressive 15 straight sets.

Even more impressive for the top-ranked team in Canada is the fact Trinity Western (7-1) was able to move players around and try a few different things.

"This game and this weekend was an opportunity for us to give different people some opportunities and try new things," said coach Ryan Hofer.

"I thought we did that and, in the process, kept developing and gelling as a team."

The Spartans won 25-10, 25-19 and 25-11 on Saturday night.

Trinity Western led in every category with a .305 hitting percentage, 14 service aces, 27 digs and 10 blocks.

Alicia Perrin led the way with eight kills, eight blocks and a pair of aces. Amber Brown had seven kills and three aces and Nicole Bazin had a match-high six aces. Kelci French had 14 assists to go along with her five digs and three blocks.

On Friday, TWU won the sets by scores of 25-8, 25-11 and 25-15.

The team delivered another dozen aces as well as nine blocks.

Amy Ott and Perrin led the way six kills apiece, with Perrin also chipping win with six blocks and Ott delivering six digs.

Up next for the Spartans is a pair of road games in Winnipeg against the Wesmen on Nov. 23 and 24.
