The injury-plagued Langley Rivermen ended up with one win and two losses during a three-games-in-three-days schedule.

The Rivermen squad faced the Coquitlam Express twice on Friday and Saturday, followed by a Sunday game against the Trail Smoke Eaters.

On Friday, the Rivermen made their first visit of the season to the Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex in Coquitlam to take on the Express.

Langley had a 3-0 lead going into the third period but the Express battled back, tying the game at 3-3 going into the closing minutes.

Langley scored late in the game but after the Express pulled their goaltender for the extra attacker, they tied things up with 20.1 seconds to go.

In overtime, Langley’s John Schuldt received a major penalty for a hit on the boards to Coquitlam forward Cam Bertsch.

The Express scored on the resulting power play to post a 5-4 victory.

On Saturday night, the two teams played at George Preston to complete the home and home series at the Lodge.

The Rivermen scored five times on their way to a 5-0 victory.

Max Kaufman, Brendan Budy, Satchel Clendenin, Harris Pearce and Nic Ponak got the shots.  Pearce registered his first goal in the BCHL.

Bo Didur recorded his first shutout of the season.

The power play clicked for two goals in four attempts.

Sunday, the Rivermen met the Trail Smoke Eaters for the first of only two meetings this season.

Langley was leading 2-0 into the first intermission, but then Trail answered back halfway through the second when former Riv defensemen Troy Ring scored.

Trail would score four more in the final frame to hand Langley the 5-2 loss.
