The Langley Xtreme got their revenge when it mattered most: the gold medal game.

The ’03 girls rep peewee softball team had lost 6-5 to the Cloverdale Fury in round robin action. But given a second chance, the Langley squad made most of their opportunity, winning 12-8.

The teams were playing in the championship final of the Ridge Meadows Minor Softball Association tournament, which was held May 20 and 21 in Maple Ridge.

Langley went 2-1 in the round robin, taming the host Ridge Meadows Rage ’04 20-3 and winning 10-2 over the Ridge Meadows Rage ’03/04. They closed the round robin with a narrow one-run loss to the Fury.

In the semifinals, the Xtreme posted a decisive 13-1 victory over the Rage ’03/04.
