Zazula, Popowich set to play for Canada

Langley’s Luke Zazula is one of 66 players chosen to represent Canada.

Canada will have three teams competing at the 2016 world under-17 Hockey Challenge and Zazula is set to skate for Team Canada Red.

The 16-year-old Zazula is in his rookie season with the WHL’s Kamloops Blazers.

In eight games this season, Zazula has two goals and five points.

And one member of the Vancouver Giants is also set to compete at the event as forward Tyler Popowich will skate for Team Canada Black.

The 16-year-old is pointless in nine games with Vancouver.

The event runs Oct. 27 to Nov. 5 in Sault Ste. Marie.
