American actress Lili Reinhart took to social media to introduce her newly rescued pup adopted from a Langley shelter.

Reinhart is best known for playing Betty Cooper in the locally filmed television series Riverdale.

“This is my new baby. He has quickly become a great love of mine,” Reinhart wrote on Instagram. “Meet Milo, my rescue sweetheart from Furever Freed [Dog Rescue B.C.].”

Furever Freed is a non-profit rescue group of volunteers located in Langley, according to the founder Lisa Gaye.

“[Reinhart] was originally looking at a few different dogs, she was really wanting a rescue dog, because two other actresses on the show have also adopted rescue dogs,” Gaye told the Langley Advance Times.

The 57-year-old estimates her society rescues about 30 to 50 dogs each month.

“Furever Freed is probably the busiest rescue in Canada,” she said about the international operation.

The adopted pup Milo is a one-year-old Schnauzer mix recused from Mexico.

“He’s a really special dog,” said Gaye. “He’s very social, he’s calm when you’re holding him. He’s a really easy dog.”

After Reinhart broke the news of her new pup to her more than 22 million Instagram followers Gaye said the organization saw a spike in interest and inquires.

The Furever Freed Instagram account went from 2,000 followers to nearly 17,000.

“She’s a huge animal lover. She just loves dogs,” Gaye said.
