End of life care is a difficult subject to discuss, but it’s a crucial service which affects many people.
Aldergrove Financial Group has pledged $50,000 to help develop a new family-oriented facility in Abbotsford.
“This facility is vital to the community and will house the existing society, and a hospice residence for adults suffering from a terminal illness,” said Aldergrove Credit Union CEO Gus K Hartl.
“As an organization, we are so proud and honoured to play a part in the building of this facility — we know the positive impact it will have on the community and how much it will help those who need it.”
The capital campaign to build a new hospice was launched 18 months ago.
The goal is to create a two-storey residence, which will be named Holmberg House, designed to provide holistic patient care in a non-institutional setting.
“On any journey, there are so many who work together to achieve a vision and the campaign continues, with $2.5 million still needed to reach the $7.5 million goal,” said Debbie Lehmann, Abbotsford Hospice Society’s executive director.
“We deeply appreciate this commitment by Aldergrove Financial Group.”
