The public is invited to sit down together and enjoy a bite to eat tomorrow (Friday, June 22). In the process, they will be helping their neighbours put a few groceries in the cupboard.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hakam’s Independent Grocer in Willoughby will host a barbecue for customers, colleagues and the community as a way to celebrate ‘Eat Together Day.’
In the process, they will raise funds for Sources Langley Food Bank.
“Eating together benefits the entire community,” says store owner Hakam Cheema.
“The mental and nutritional benefits of eating together are well documented.”
