Kwantlen Polytechnic University appoints pair

New dean, librarian announced for university

Dr. Elizabeth Worobec has been appointed the new dean of the science and horticulture department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

She begins her new post on Sept. 21 and joins the university after previously serving as the director of University 1 at the University of Manitoba. Her department oversaw student academic support for first-year students.

Prior to that she held positions at the university which included assistant professor of microbiology, associate professor, assistant head of microbiology and associate dean of science.

She completed her PhD in biochemistry at the University of Alberta and continued with post-doctoral training with UBC’s department of microbiology.

The university also appointed Todd Mundle as their new university librarian, effective  May 1.

His career extends more than 23 years, including the past 10 as the associate university librarian at Simon Fraser University.

Mundle plays an active role in B.C.’s library community currently chairing the Council of Post-Secondary Library Directors and the AskAway Advisory Committee. Since 2004 he has served on the Steering Committee of the BC Electronic Library Network chairing it for two years. He has been Treasurer of the British Columbia Library Association and sat on the Library 2020 Organizing Committee.

He received his MLS (1989) and BA in History (1984) both from the University of British Columbia.
