Langley City Fire Rescue and Canadian Blood Services are hoping to needle the public on Dec. 4.

The sixth annual blood donor clinic in memory of fallen City firefighter, Ron Dunkley, will be at the City fire hall, 5785 203rd St., from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Langley City firefighters will help out at the annual clinic.

During the holiday Give campaign, 2,200 new donors are needed in the B.C. and Yukon region and more than 14,000 appointments must be filled.

Collecting blood during the holidays can be challenging because many donors are away or busy with family activities.

Canadian Blood Services, not for profit charitable organization, manages the national supply of blood, blood products and stem cells, and related services for all the provinces and territories (excluding Quebec).
