Fingers are crossed for the return of an all-out water war to Langley City this year, after it was scaled back last year due to drought conditions.
The annual Legendary Water Fight is scheduled for July 16, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Al Anderson Memorial Pool.
Kim Hilton, the City’s director of recreation, culture and community services said last year’s event, which did not include the planned participation of the fire department, was much smaller than previous years due to water restrictions from Metro Vancouver.
“It’s a great event. The kids have a tremendous amount of fun,” she said.
“It was greatly reduced [last year]. It wasn’t the same event.”
Hilton said she is in contact with engineering staff with the City and Metro Vancouver to determine if there will be water restrictions that could again cause the event to be scaled back.
