Santa and Mrs. Claus will be the special guests at this Saturday’s Holiday Craft Fair at the Langley Seniors Recreation & Resources Centre.

The Langley Seniors Resource Society’s (LSRS’s) annual Holiday Craft Fair is so popular, two iconic visitors plan to travel thousands of miles south to Langley in what is the most hectic time of the year for them, just to attend.

On Saturday, more than 50 vendors selling their wares throughout the Langley Seniors Recreation & Resources Centre, and in addition to the wide array of jewellery, clothing, chocolate, and holiday ornaments, two special visitors are also expected: Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

“We’re very fortunate they were both able to find time in their busy schedules,” LSRS recreation director Sandy Lucas said. “Being seniors themselves, it was important to them to show their support for the society by making an appearance. They also mentioned wanting to take advantage of some of the great bargains to be had at the craft fair.”

No official photographer will be in attendance; shoppers are encouraged to bring their own cameras or camera phones for photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus by donation.

The LSRS Craft Fair will also be holding a 50/50 draw, and a raffle for over 40 items donated by crafters.

Proceeds from these draws and from table rentals pay for seniors’ programs, with craft sales supporting community artisans and crafters.

The craft fair runs Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the seniors centre building located at 20605 51B Avenue.

Entrance is free.
