Focus on the Family has moved into their new national location in Langley, after successfully raising $8 million to construct a new building.
This is the first time the organization has owned its own home, which will save it $400,000 in rent each year.
Focus on the Family is a Christian ministry dedicated to helping families build healthy, supportive relationships.
From its head office in Langley, it conducts outreach programs to families across the country.
“We want it to be an office that nurtures what we do,” said Terence Rolston, president of Focus on the Family.
“So we want it to be a functional space, and also capture the value and the heart of what we do, so that our team can express that same heart.”
Plans for the new offices were drawn up in 2008, and thanks to many generous donors, the building was completed in January with no debt.
“We believe this facility now gives us the capacity to grow to even better serve the families we are called to serve,” said Rolston.
Grand opening celebrations held on Saturday (June 18) saw more than 1,000 people come out to enjoy tours, kids’ games, meet and greets with Focus radio hosts and more.
“To see the families together was something special for us. It was an encouragement for us and the team,” said Rolston.
