Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) held one of the 300 events in 30 cities across Canada during Science Rendezvous on Saturday.
Science Rendezvous took over KPU in Langley, Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, and UBC in favour of space balloons, bottle rockets, and edible DNA.
As well, for the second year, Science Rendezvous conducted a Canada‐Wide Experiment. Eight sites released high-altitude balloons into space to take a snapshot of Canada’s atmospheric health. The results will be analyzed by researchers at the University of Regina and presented at festival event sites.
This year’s Science Rendezvous activities launched the 10-day Science Odyssey series in partnership with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC).
More than 200,000 people attended Science Rendezvous events across Canada last year.
