Krause Berry Farms is celebrating its 40th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 6 with the fun beginning at 10:30 a.m. and going well past sundown.

Come out between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. when local farmers will be offering tastings of their specialities. Among the farms there will be JD Farms, Milner Cheese, Kensington Prairie Farms, Original Mexican and Tom Baumann of Expert Ag Team will be driving the tractor train and sharing fun farm facts.

For the kids, there will be a bouncy castle, face painting, balloons, pony rides and dress up portraits.

Then from 5 to 7 p.m. the Krause Berry team will be hosting a ball game, where people can play an inning or two.

And at 8:30 p.m., a movie under the stars will be offered. The Sandlot will be the feature film.

Krause will also have a 25-foot collage of all the newspaper coverage of events and happenings at the busy working farm over the past 40 years.

Then of course, there is the berry waffles that Krause is so famous for, or their mile high strawberry pies. Saddle up in their Western-themed wine tasting room or peruse their shop full of goodies.

Alf and Sandee Krause opened up their berry farm 40 years ago, quickly turning it into a destination, with fun for the whole family, including a sandbox with a huge playground, petting zoo and store and bakery.
