Langley is turning blue.
The Langley Hospice Society is making the rounds of the community with blue light bulbs for its special Children’s Grief Awareness Day on Nov. 15 which is the third Thursday of November.
The Langley Hospice Society invites local business to help them “paint the town blue” by turning on a blue light bulb at their place of business for the day.
The hospice society will be lighting up the Supportive Program Centre in blue lights and inviting the community be part of the blue light campaign in honour of these often forgotten mourners – local grieving children and teens.
Any business wanting to take part but not visited yet by a society representative can request a bulb by contacting info@langleyhospice.com. They can also show support by asking staff to wear blue on Nov. 15.
The hospice society, based at 20660 48th Ave., will also have an open house that day. The public can tour the centre, and meet the staff and volunteers. There will be crafts for kids. The open house runs 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. It has programs for all ages.
Watch for large street banners in Langley City Nov. 5 to 19 and the Township will light up the pedestrian bridge on 200th Street and 68th Avenue, all in honour of Children’s Grief Awareness Day.
