Two Langley nursing students will each receive a $2,000 bursary to help pay for their education.

Two Langley nursing students will each receive a $2,000 bursary to help pay for their education.

The money is being provided by the Nurses Education Bursary program which is offered through StudentAid BC. Eligible students can offset the cost of their studies through loans, grants, bursaries, scholarships and special programs from the provincial government.

Established in 2001, the NEB program is a program providing up to $1 million in funding, and is awarded each year to nursing applicants who demonstrate the greatest financial need.

One of the students attends Kwantlen’s nursing program, while the other is enrolled at Sprott Shaw Community College. Names were not  released by the provincial government in its press release, because of privacy issues.

The bursary helps boost the number of skilled health care providers in B.C. at a time it is needed the most.
