“Mr. D” a 13-year-old African spur thigh tortoise, was one of the exotic creatures on view during the Animals in The Plaza event at McBurney Plaza on Saturday. Julie Clemas holds a smaller 35-year-old three-toed Eastern Boc turtle named “Mr. Pierce” so that four-year-old Tyler Appleyard can gently touch the shell.
