Although the weather outside was snowy and slick, inside was a winter wonderland for Langley’s youngest residents at the Holiday Family Fun event at West Langley Hall Saturday.

Danica Scott and Jenni Knowles, together with six other Township of Langley employees, played and laughed with the 20 kids in attendance this year.

Children and their parents were invited to West Langley Hall, where there was facepainting, ornament making, story time, and other festive fun activities.

Scott, who teaches preschool in the Township, led the kids in a storytime, as well as some reindeer games to get them up and moving.

The kids and their parents all joined in on a “snowball fight” inside, using paper snowballs.

The warm indoor space also allowed kids to run around with freedom from snowsuits and away from the Fraser Valley dampness.

Parker Gerrard, four, and Braxon Clarke, three, made a game with Scott of putting all the snowballs back in the bin and creating a snowstorm effect around the room.

The final touch on the day was delivered with buckets of snow, brought in from outside.

Stations were set up for the children, so they could build their own snowman – again inside.
