KPU Langley instructor Jane Hayes featured in Fraser Valley Symphony spring concert

The Fraser Valley Symphony is featuring Kwantlen Polytechnic University instructor Jane Hayes in their upcoming spring concert, Schubert and Schumann, in Abbotsford on April 9.

Since her debut with the Toronto Symphony, Hayes' concerts have taken her across Canada, the United States, Europe and Mexico.

She was the principal keyboard player for Orchestra London, a regular soloist with orchestras throughout Ontario, and a featured artist on many CBC radio broadcasts.

An active recording artist, she has 17 CDs available on the Fanfare, EMI, Centrediscs, ATMA, Artifact, CBC-Musica Viva and CBC SM5000 labels.

Hayes moved to B.C. in 1993 to become a faculty member and subsequent department head in the music department of Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Langley.

She was the recipient of the 2015 Kwantlen Faculty of Arts Distinguished Teaching Award, given for outstanding achievement in her field as noted by students.

The spring concert takes place at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way at 3 p.m. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and $5 for children 12 and under.
