Most residents are familiar with the Langley Events Centre for the array of sports and teams it houses, or the occasional concert or faith gathering.

But the folks at the LEC are taking their first foray into Christmas, and in a big way.

The Christmas Show features more than 200 exhibitors and runs Nov. 15 and 16.

“This event will be something the community wants to be a part of and attend on an annual basis,” said Langley Events Centre director of business development Jared Harman. “Adding Tenore will make the weekend that much more memorable and there is really something for everyone – kids to adults – at the event.”

Highlights include Tenore, the singing group that has performed worldwide. Tenore has won three Gosepl Music Association Covenant Awards. The group has also sold more than 30,000 records.

“These guys will blow you away from the first listen and addict you like a great Bocelli record‚“ said Brett Manning, world-renowned vocal coach, who’s worked with artists like Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

Tenore shows are at 5 p.m. on the Saturday and at 2 p.m. on the Sunday.

As well, there will be a special someone for the kids to meet at the Kringle’s Kids Korner.

The first 300 visitors who bring their kids to see Santa will receive a free gift as well as a free professional picture with Santa.

The event will also feature a gingerbread house competition, artisan marketplace, featuring one-of-a-kind gifts and free entertainment. Tykes Bikes will be giving away four bikes each day.

Another unique entertainment attraction will be the Langley Cheer & Athletics Squad. The members perform a routine composed of tumbling (gymnastics), stunting (groups of athletes elevating other athletes), pyramids (combinations of attached stunts), dance, and cheer segments. Competitive cheerleading is performed and scored against other teams at various local, regional, national and worldwide competitions.

Though children 10 and younger are admitted free, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Adult admission is $10. Seniors tickets are $7 while youth (ages 10-16) pay $5. The prices include GST.

More information on which vendors will be at the show, pre-show prizes and contests, and tickets are available at

The hand stamp for paid admission provides access throughout the weekend.

There’s lots of prize draws ranging from admission and a hair appointment to a furniture package and gift cards to spend at the show. Check the Langley Advance for its Christmas Show contest.
