Plays and musicals coming to Vancouver stages during the 2024-25 season have been announced by both Broadway Across Canada (BAC) and Arts Club Theatre Company.
Seven BAC shows will tour to Queen Elizabeth Theatre later this year and next, starting with the 9/11-themed musical “Come From Away” (September 2024), followed by “The Book of Mormon” (November), “Beetlejuice” (January 2025), “Tina” the Tina Turner musical (March 2025), “SIX” (May 2025), “Riverdance 30” (June 2025) and “Disney’s The Lion King” (August 2025).
Each show “offers a unique and unforgettable experience, promising laughter, tears and everything in between,” promised Shana Levin, vice-president of Broadway Across Canada.

BAC’s current season at Queen Elizabeth Theatre ends with “Hairspray” (April 2-7) and “Disney’s Frozen” (July 9-21).
Elsewhere in Vancouver, the Arts Club’s 61st season will feature 11 plays and musicals at the company’s three venues (Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage, Granville Island Stage, Newmont Stage at BMO Theatre Centre).
Largest among the theatres is the Stanley, where the 2024-25 season kicks off with “Jersey Boys” (September/October), followed by the holiday musical “Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol” (November/December), “The Three Muskateers” (January/February 2025), “Cambodian Rock Band” (March/April 2025), “Casey and Diana” (April/May 2025) and “Waitress” (summer 2025).
Plays hitting the Granville Island Stage include “Miracle on 34th Street” (opening Nov. 21), “Primary Trust” (February/March 2025), “Burning Mom” (spring 2025) and “The Mousetrap” (summer 2025). So far, the lone production booked at Newmont Stage is “The Gingerbread Men: A(nother) Holiday Cabaret,” December 2024.
Now playing at Granville Island is “Father Tartuffe: An Indigenous Misadventure” (to March 24), followed by Michelle Riml’s “Sexy Laundry” (starts April 11). Next at the Stanley, opening March 21, is “Red Velvet,” Lolita Chakrabarti’s London-set story of Ira Aldridge, who in 1833 made history by becoming the first Black actor to tread the boards as Shakespeare’s “Othello.”
