Ron Dunkley was a 35-year-old Langley City firefighter who died after an accident in Washington State in 2010.
The man who spent his career helping others has left a legacy of giving. Even before his parents set up the Ron Dunkley Memorial Society, they and his coworkers were hosting an annual blood drive in his name.
This year’s Ron Dunkley Memorial Blood Drive is Oct. 15 at the Langley City Fire Rescue hall, 5785 203rd St., from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It is a special mobile blood donor clinic of Canada Blood Service, the national not-for-profit that oversees the blood supply in all provinces and territories, except Quebec.
