A car fire in a Langley strip mall this morning spread to a neighbouring vehicle and threatened nearby businesses.
Langley City firefighters were deployed to the Fraser Crossings mall at 208th Street and the Fraser Highway just before noon today (Sunday, Jan. 14) after 9-1-1 received several calls about a car fire in the high-traffic mall.
Fire crews arrived to find an SUV fully engulfed, another vehicle beside it catching fire, and flames threatening to spread to stores that were only eight feet away.
Firefighters fought to knock down the flames while RCMP controlled the crowd, trying to keep most people inside the businesses while the fire was being extinguished.
The cause was not yet known.
