The tarp was pulled back on May 19 to unveil a 76-foot by 14-foot photo mosaic mural decorating the exterior of Langley Fine Arts School in Fort Langley. The mural features 17,500 faces in a mosaic, arranged to form an image of the Blaauw Eco Forest. Langley Times file photo

We chose to incorporate Blauww forest because we believe it is an important part of our community.

A few years ago, the Langley Fine Arts School (LFAS) community helped save the forest from development and it is now a place for research, conservation, and public enjoyment.

Seeing the mural unveiled after two years of hard work was incredibly rewarding.

There were setbacks and times it seemed the project was too ambitious, but seeing it completed made all the early morning meetings and time spent taking and editing photos worth it.

I’m so proud of the team of photographers that made this project happen and none of this would be possible without the whole community that supported us.
