Aldergrove’s Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience Waterpark is opening for the season for weekends on May 17 until June 23, offering pre-registered two-and-a-half hour sessions.

The destination has drawn more than 100,000 visitors in previous years.

While the water park is operating, drop-ins at the year-round 25-metre lane pool, lifestyle pool, and hot tub under the community centre’s wood canopy roof will only be available in the mornings. After 10 a.m. they will be operating as part of the park attractions, which also includes a wave pool, a river ride, spray park, and water slides.

There are no drop-ins.

The waterpark will open seven days a week starting June 28.

Township of Langley residents can book water park sessions 10 days in advance, while non-Township residents can only register seven days ahead.

“Using this system also offers Township residents early access registration prior to non-Township residents,” the Township told the Langley Advance Times.

However, new this year is Township residents having priority booking for group areas of 20 or more three days prior to non-Township residents.

Everyone entering the water park must be registered, including those not intending to swim and children three and younger.

If a water park session is full, it is sold out and additional spots are not available.

People with reservations should arrive no earlier than 45 minutes ahead of their scheduled water park session.

Lounge chairs, and picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis and guests are encouraged to bring their own folding chairs.

Lifejackets and personal flotation devices are available for use at no cost.

Admission ranges from $5 for kids, to $6.30 for teens and $10 for adults. Infants and toddlers three and younger get in free. Seniors aged 60 to 79 pay $7.60, and seniors 80 and older pay $1.

Registration can be booked online at tol.ca.

Overflow parking is located at the nearby Aldergrove Community Secondary School.
