A nine-year-old boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Walnut Grove on the afternoon of Sunday, April 14.

The child stepped out into the 21500 block of Telegraph Trail, where he was hit by a vehicle said Sgt. Barry Beales of the Langley RCMP.

“He ran out from between parked cars,” Beales said.

The driver stayed on the scene and there is no suspicion of impaired driving. The incident is still under investigation, but it is not believed to be a criminal incident at this time, Beales said.

The boy was taken to hospital. Police said his injuries were not considered to be life threatening, but a family member indicated he spent time in the ICU and was seriously hurt in the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoke to police, or has video of the incident, is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
