A man was temporarily taken into police custody after the Langley RCMP were called to an altercation between two men, one of whom had a knife, on Saturday, Jan. 6 in Langley City.

Just before 4 p.m., a passerby reported a verbal altercation between two men in the area of 200th Street and 53rd Avenue.

“One of the men reportedly had a large knife. Before we arrived, one of the men drove away,” said Langley RMCP Cpl. Craig van Herk.

“The second man, the one reported to have the large knife, walked away on foot.”

Officers located the man on foot and he was initially arrested.

“After further investigation, it was determined no criminal offence had been committed. He has been released with no criminal charges,” van Herk said.
