On Thursday, Oct. 19, the third of four Langley City neighbourhood meetings, about the Nicomekl neighbourhood, will be held at Nicomekl Elementary at 20050 53rd Ave.

It will be followed by a meeting about the Blacklock and Simonds neighbourhoods Oct. 24 (Tuesday) Simonds Elementary 2019 48th Ave.

In his online blog, Mayor Nathan Pachal described the meetings as a “low-key and informal” opportunity to ask questions and share feedback with Langley City Council, City Staff, and the RCMP.

“The meetings are set up like a trade show or open house,” Pachal described, with information booths from City recreation, finance, bylaws, social planning services, engineering, parks, and development services departments, along with Fire Rescue and the RCMP.

“Council will be mingling around if you have questions and feedback for us as well.” Pachal said.

There will also be coffee and light snacks, a children’s play area, and “limited seating,” he added.

Running 6-8 p.m. residents can learn about City initiatives, projects, services and programs, including the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain, the City’s financial plan, transportation 2045 plan, engineering and parks projects, urban forest management, zoning bylaw update, community safety, bylaw enforcement, fire prevention, recreation and culture programming and community events.

All residents are welcome and no reservation is needed.
