Langley Community Music School is holding one of its final concerts in the Rose Gellert Hall series with a special performance by world-renowned clarinetist James Campbell on Saturday, April 20.
Campbell has performed solo and as a chamber musician in more than 35 countries and more than 60 orchestras. His 25-year long career has included experience as a teacher, composer, and musical director in theatre.
He will be joined by pianist Marcel Bergmann and the school’s Ensemble in Residence for an exciting concert featuring jazz, Latin, and Klezmer inspired works, said artistic director of concerts Elizabeth Bergmann.
“James is a phenomenal musician, and the artists have an exceptional evening planned for the audience,” she said.
“It is always exciting to hear a piece performed for the very first time, and we look forward with great anticipation to the premiere of Marcel’s new work commissioned by LCMS on this occasion,” she added.
Ticket prices are $33 for adults, $30 for seniors, and $18 for students and $10 for LCMS students, and can be purchased online at langleymusic.com.
“We invite everyone to join us for this special concert, and to hear James share his musical knowledge and insights at the masterclasses,” said principal Carolyn Graholm.
Rose Gellert Hall is located at 4899 207th St., and doors open at 7 with the concert starting at 7:30 p.m.
Additionally, Campbell is hosting masterclasses with LCMS students on April 19 at 7 p.m. and 21 at 1:30 p.m., and the public are invited to attend.
LCMS is a non-profit organization and registered charity that provides musical education to students of all ages and levels. It hosts multiple musical concerts from October to May.
