Three-month-old Tyler Derocher is still missing as of mid-day Friday, April 5, and Langley RCMP are asking anyone with tips to call them immediately.

Baby Tyler is the subject of an Amber Alert, after he was by his mother, Brianne Darlene Ford, on Thursday afternoon.

“We are requesting everyone to contact the Langley RCMP if they have any information available, and we will act on any tips that we receive,” Cpl. Zynal Sharoom said at a briefing update Friday morning at the Langley RCMP detachment headquarters.

“We’ve received numerous tips, but none of them have been confirmed at this time,” Sharoom said, while still encouraging anyone with information to contact the detachment..

Police are continuing their search for the child and his mother.

“We would like to say that she did not have permission to have Tyler,” he explained.

He said the age of the child has investigators concerned.

“We are all gravely concerned about a three [month] old being unaccounted for this time,” he commented.

Mounties now believe the suspect, 35-year-old mother Brianne Darlene Ford, has only one side of her brown hair shaved. She also has purple highlights.

The last time she was seen, she was wearing a black leather jacket – but investigators can’t yet confirm if she was wearing it at the time of the abduction.

There were several aspects of the case he could not divulge.

“I’m unable to speak to the custodial agreements that are, that have been in place,” he said. “The police are aware of the circumstances surrounding it.”

The search Thursday night was extensive, with Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue setting up a command post on the corner of 72nd Avenue and 208th Street, in the area where Tyler and Brianne Darlene Ford were last seen.

While the search and rescue group ground search has stood down, the RCMP are still scouring the neighbourhood, talking to residents, and trying to obtain any surveillance footage. Investigators have been in touch with biological relatives.

“The immediate family of Tyler is fully cooperating with this investigation,” Sharoom said.

Anyone with information on this is asked to call the detachment at 604-532-3200. Sharoom noted that while there has been a great deal posted on social media about this case, investigators need to speak directly to people with knowledge of the baby, or his abuduction.
