An early morning shooting incident resulted in police blocking off a section of 196th Street on Saturday, Nov. 25.
Around 4:40 a.m., Langley RCMP responded to a call of possible shots fired into the back of a residence on Wakefield Drive.
“Responding frontline officers met with residents, and after confirming no one was injured, did locate what appeared to be bullet holes in the exterior of the house,” said Cpl. Craig van Herk of the Langley RCMP.
The stretch of 196th Street between 66th and 64th Avenues were blocked to traffic for nearly 12 hours as police investigated the area.
Evidence markers could be seen on the street near bullet casings and bullet holes in the fence. Reportedly, two shell casings were also found in a nearby occupied home.
“We are fortunate no one was injured,” van Herk said.
Langley RCMP’s General Investigation Section has taken on the investigation.
